Just saw the new version over the weekend and I loved how it/the Broadway musical are unique from the original movie! I think Angourie’s Cady and Renee’s Regina can hang in there and compete with Lindsay and Rachel, but the og Gretchen + Karen are still my faves (and let’s talk about THE CAMEO of all cameos)
I talked to her before she'd seen it and she ended up liking it! She appreciated how Busy Phillips made the Cool Mom role her own without mimicking Amy Poehler's iconic performance.

That is great to hear!! And re: Gretchen and Karen, AGREED. According to Jen’s book, Lacey Chabert and Amanda Seyfried were best friends on the set.
