I loved how you described our writing process, Erin! We truly got lucky as writing partners considering it was our first time working together. It really has been so much fun.
Love reading about your writing process and sure it will lead somewhere good for you both! Also inspired to find Cutting Edge for a rewatch - loved that film!
Shameless Media (highly recommend this Aussie pop culture podcast) had an interesting take on Wuthering Heights in their "All Sizzle, No Sausage..." episode this past week.
Essentially Margot Robbie, in addition to being an incredible actress, also has a high acumen for business. Her Lucky Chap productions co-produced Wuthering Heights, and Shameless argued that their hasn't been this much buzz around a movie since Barbie-heimer. They acknowledged it's not the same level, but couldn't recall another film that was generating this much talk.
I'm curious if Emerald Fennell's movies will be looked back on in a decade the same way Sofia Coppola's have been - with admiration - even if they weren't beloved by critics at their release.
Congratulations on your screenplay! What an accomplishment. Can't recall if you've discussed Katherine Center's novel The Rom-Commers, but would recommend as a read if it's new to you.
This warms my heart so much! I love seeing the crazy turns that can lead us to new and unexpected things. (Even more of a miracle when I remember that one disastrous tour where we got to the bar and they didn't have a TV or DVD player but didn't tell us, lol.)
I miss when romcoms could have a guy like DB Sweeney as a lead.
He was perfect in that role
Can’t wait to see Autumnland hit our screens 🤩🙌🏾
❤️❤️❤️
Erin, I loved this!! This is certainly the kick in the butt I needed to keep going while writing. Thanks for sharing 💕
Don’t do what I did, write in Celtx first!

Yes, same! I recall the negative reviews for Marie Antoinette which is a great film

OH MY GOD. We had to improvise on the spot!
Why didn’t we just reenact the Hanks-Chappelle scene? WHY?
Tour highlight!!
Wait--I just realized the romcom tour introduced me to both of my future collaborators! Really the most fruitful "meet cute" I've ever had :)
It’s truly wild!!
This is so exciting, Kirthana!
Thank you, Jolene!
This is so interesting reading about the process of screenwriting with a partner! I can't wait to see Autumnland in theatres!
